Several months ago, my parents-in-law had a tragic fire and lost everything and their home of 14 yrs. The true blessings.. no one was hurt and they had renters insurance, but their old apartment complex was starting to become dumpy and they(the owners) behaved very shady. They wouldn't move to where we live(my in-laws) and we won't force them to so, they did find a new place. It is larger and it seems very nice and they seem happy! We went up today, to see the new place and have breakfast with them, so Nate could see them and give them a few pictures. We also went to Gary proper, and saw my husband's real Dad at his apartment, and he is ok, but that is a whole novel of a story. Anyway, before this becomes one of my untold half told stories, my real reason for checking in is to talk about RSS feeds.
One of the assignments is to learn about RSS feeds, and add a few to my google reader. Well had I known about them during football these past years, I would have saved myself loads of time going from site to site looking up scores, and finding the comments sections, I wanted to cuss about! That, I think is the coolest thing about the RSS feeds. They are shortcut favorites to sites, right to the section, you want that are updated. No more broken outdated links! That is nice, for alot of my favorite authors too! The reason I mentioned my in-laws first, here's the bad story telling if you were wondering.....my fathers-in-law, both, like to talk with me about stuff, one about cooking, the other about sports. Now I can be up to date about their favorite teams, and TV cooks before I see them!
Now, libraries can use these feeds by keeping up with authors, newsfeeds, and the newest popular media. They also can set up their own feed so patrons can follow their calendar and other events at the library.
I promised some pictures to liven up my page and here is one of myself and my family taken in California at Huntington Beach this past spring. More bad stories later.....
